Sarah was born in the United States, with a mixed British and Chinese heritage, she grew up in France before moving to the UK for further education.
While studying English at Cambridge University, she started producing and her professional career began in the theatre industry working for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Sonia Friedman Productions.
She set up Sarah Brocklehurst Productions in 2012 and produced the award-winning feature films ‘Black Pond’ (for which she was nominated for a BAFTA) and ‘Animals’, as well as acclaimed new plays at the Young Vic Theatre and the Traverse. Sarah was named a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit and a Screen Star of Tomorrow, and she received a Vision Award from the BFI.
Sarah founded Brock Media in 2022 in partnership with BBC Studios. She is passionate about building the company into a home that can champion, support and realise the vision and ambition of exceptional storytellers.
