Sparkle (yes, that’s her real name!) began her creative journey studying acting at Leeds Conservatoire from 2019 to 2023. During that time, she discovered a passion for writing and was Highly Commended for her script Personally, I in the New Views Writing Competition with Leeds Playhouse and the National Theatre. While she loved acting, she realised she was more drawn to helping others tell their stories rather than being in them.

After graduating, she worked as a Trainee Director for Leeds Playhouse’s research and development process on Two Tribes, written by Simon Gray and directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair. In 2024, she joined Screen Yorkshire’s Beyond Brontë scheme, which helped her navigate her place in the TV and film industry. From this program, she had the opportunity to be involved in Brock Media’s latest feature Extra Geography as a Production Runner, where she met Sarah.

Sparkle has a keen interest in stories that explore complex relationships within “taboo” topics and stories that are not afraid to have those difficult discussions. In her spare time she loves cooking up a feast, and enjoys watching a great show with a big cup of tea.
